ELKE BUEGLER

The Circle of Life

The conscious mind processes information in a linear way using language, whereas the subconscious operates using symbols, metaphors and emotional associations.

In order to address the subconscious, it is necessary to speak its native language. This is received through a human being's senses of seeing, hearing, touching, smelling or tasting. One sense alone can evoke an emotional reaction, but two or more senses together have the ability to address the subconscious and create memories.

That's where art proves to be one of the most valuable parts of human life. Whether it's images, sound or a combination of the two. Examples include paintings, photographs, sculptures, statues, installations, architecture and music. The creative process is designed to access the subconscious, the eternal part of a human being. Art is a gateway to an unseen world.

It turns out that art is not only a gift for creative people, i.e. artists, but for all of humanity as well. Immersing oneself in the world of art is like telling a story to the subconscious in its own language. To the part of you that already knows who you are, where you come from, and why you are here.

This exhibition by Elke Buegler addresses a theme that is particularly important to her and conveys her vision unapologetically. Driven by questions about the big picture of life that have been asked for ages and yet remain unanswered.

Who am I, and where do I come from? Why am I here? Is there a purpose to life?

Though science is revealing fractures and discoveries are made more precise and faster nowadays, they are not easy to achieve for the human mind. But throughout history, right up to the present day, there have always been visionary people who have come to their own conclusions and revealed them to the public. Throughout her life, the artist has been inquisitive and open to alternative perspectives. Drawing on this wealth of knowledge and inspired by her own experiences, she has developed her own personal vision.

Immerse yourself in the world of Elke Buegler, whose twelve works of art depict the different phases of the life cycle. Each artwork is monochrome and has been created using one of the twelve main colours of the Itten colour wheel. They represent the symbiosis of the soul and the human being, evolving from the beginning to the returning into infinity.

Experience the artworks at the exhibition opening alongside the unique sounds, melodies, and noises of experimental cellist Ulrich Maiss, who will accompany the event with his performance.

To make the most of the exhibition, leave all your expectations at the door and enter the room with an open mind. Be open to allowing the artwork to speak to you through colours and archetypal symbols, connecting with the part of you that deeply knows and clearly understands everything. Let them ignite a spark in your subconscious, reminding you that you have everything within you to make this world a better place.
Remember who you are.
